Meet Newborn Callum

Hannah & Nick welcomed their new baby Callum to the world recently, and what a lucky boy to have been born into such a loving family.  With a comfy and ADORABLE nursery, complete with a best dog friend, Callum will have a wonderful life!!  Plus, he has a special quilt made just for him by his loving grandma.  With his strawberry blonde hair and his "angel's kiss", Callum is just the sweetest!

Graham & Claiborne

Since I watch my grand kids a couple times a week, I always bring my camera and snap away!  Eight month old Graham is at the perfect age to cooperative with his "gramma with a camera"!  Claiborne, two & eight months, has suddenly decided that she is tired of posing for gramma.  But one recent summer evening, we actually scheduled a REAL photo shoot at the park.  These two cuties just have the tightest hold on my HEART!  Love them to the moon and back!

Aria is TWO!!

It seems like yesterday that I was photographing newborn Aria, and now she is TWO!  Oh, how she has grown, (even though her #2 balloon was bigger than her!) She romped and splashed at the edge of the water, snuggled with her momma, and chased her cousin.  Such a special time to celebrate being TWO.

Taylor & Nikko ENGAGED: Assateague Island

When a couple compromises on an engagement location photo shoot, you know they are off to a good start!  After going to the dirt road that Nikko wanted to do, we headed to Taylor's spot at Assateague.  The light was just right, the beach was beautiful, and Taylor and Nikko went for a quick dip even though the ocean was COLD!!  I am so happy for this special couple, AND glad to say we are kind of related!  (Nikko is my son-in-law's nephew!)

Taylor and Nikko are ENGAGED!

When Taylor & Nikko contacted me about photographing their engagement,  Taylor wanted to do the photo shoot at Assateague Island.    And then Nikko had an idea . . . he wanted to do it on a dirt road where they used to hang out when they were first dating!  (That was in high school, by the way!) So we decided to do BOTH locations.  I am going to share the dirt road photographs first!  What a beautiful place!  You have to love it when the soon-to-be groom says, "Do you mind if we have a beer?"  Of course not!!  Nikko's truck on this dirt road was the perfect location for this beautiful pair to celebrate  their engagement.

Finley turns ONE!

After a long winter, spring finally arrived, so I headed to the beach to help the Shearer family celebrate little Finley's first birthday.  What a beautiful beach morning to share with the sweetest family of three.  This precious little baby is loved so much, and it SHOWS!!  Happy FIRST birthday to Finley.

Newborn Kaya & her family

What a special photography session I had with 15 day old Kaya and her family.  It was very special because I had photographed her 3 year old brother when he was a newborn!   How lovely to see a family grow!  So much love that Kingston shows his baby sister.  The Oltman family of four just radiates happiness.

Dan & Rachel - A Proposal!

Dan was waiting at the end of a dock, guitar in hand, and a ring in his pocket!  Rachel made her way through a wooded path, down to greet her special man.  I was hiding behind the trees, ready to capture it all.  How blessed I was to be apart of Dan's proposal.  As a photographer, this was a first for me.  SHE SAID YES!  And then we celebrated their engagement with a photo session among the trees.  I know it is a day that Rachel and Dan will never forget, and neither will I.

DOGS - A Special Kind of LOVE

I have been asked "DO YOU TAKE DOG PHOTOGRAPHS?" and the answer to that is YES!!  Or really any pet that you love!  Our pets are family members, too.  Pets can join you in your family portrait, OR I can photograph your pets on their own.  I have always had a dog since I was a kid, and I am so glad I still have photographs to remember them.  These furry friends are such a JOY and having photographs of them will keep them close to your heart forever!

BEST of 2017 . . . COUPLES

LOVE was in the air when I worked with this year's couples!  Some were engaged, some had been married for years, some just wanted to celebrate their togetherness . . . and some came for a family photo shoot, but I just had to take a photo of the people who started it all.  Here is to the COUPLES of 2017.

Best of 2017 . . . the BIG kids!

Being a teacher for twenty years, I LOVE kids. From kindergarten to teens, kids are fun to be around.  They just want to be goofy and giggle.  I am very comfortable with doing those things myself, so hopefully these kids had a fun photo shoot with me!  Here are the BEST photos of the BIG kids!!

BEST of 2017 . . . Newborns, Babies & Toddlers

Photographing these sweet souls is pure JOY!!  Their expressions always bring a huge smile to my face. With their adorable, baby expressions and their unexpected movements, photographing them is such FUN! Enjoy the innocence of these precious souls.

BEST OF 2017 . . . FAMILIES

What a year 2017 has been!!    This year was the year that I took my hobby of photography to the next level . . .KARIN LERTORA PHOTOGRAPHY became a reality!  I have learned so much, my friends and family have been so supportive,  and I have met many wonderful people along the way.   My heart is full, and I am beyond thankful to all the people that allowed me to capture a glimpse of their life through my photography.  Here is just a small sample of some of my favorite moments with FAMILIES.

The Shirk Family

Lots to LOVE about this photo session!  First of all, it's always special when I get to photograph a previous student!  Then add in an adorable little sister and a brand new puppy to elevate the cuteness!  The Shirk family had just moved in to their beautiful, new home, so this family had a lot to celebrate.    The location was a photographer's dream with a broken down, old barn and a metal shed, and of course, the beautiful light coming through the trees.  Perfect family, perfect location!!

What a BLESSING - Meet William

As the new year approaches, it is such a special time to count your blessings.  The Purnell family is rich with blessings this year as they welcomed their newborn son, William.  He joins his adorable sister, Amelia, to a home filled with LOVE.  Amelia is just a natural in front of the camera and behind the camera, too!  I had a toy camera at the photo shoot, and she grabbed it and started clicking away.  These two siblings are cute as can be!  Thank you to Sarah and Deshon for letting me share in your JOY!

The Campbells at Christmas

Tis' the season to enjoy special time with family, so the Campbell family let me join in on an Assateague hike.  It was a beautiful, mild winter day, with two little dogs and an adorable, almost seven year old boy, and we walked.  We walked on the beach with bare feet, and we walked on trails on the bay side.  I had some good laughs and tons of fun with Amy, Matt, and Cullen!  Thanks  so much for sharing the day with me!  Merry Christmas to the Campbell family.

The Pearson Family of FOUR!

The greatest miracle of all is a newborn . . . say hello to this little miracle, baby William!  This adorable baby boy joined his parents and two year old brother, Jack, to make the Pearson family just a perfect family of four.  So much sweetness, so much love, and so much happiness!

The Cosman Family

This week of Thanksgiving is all about FAMILY!  So it is the perfect time to share the Cosman family's photo shoot!  With two kids in their teens and their dog showing some age, it was ideal for the Cosmans to take the time to gather for some family photographs.  Here are Megan, Mike, Kylie and Hayden!

Sami & Chris Are Engaged!

The smiles, the laughter, the look of love in their eyes . . . Chris and Sami are perfect together!  These two have know each other since they were kids, and this friendship and familiarity shines through.  I have known Sami since the day she was born, her mom is my soul sister, and to see that she has found her PERSON makes me so happy.  Sami and Chris are going to have a beautiful future together.

Graham, my grandson!

Aside from the birth of my own children, the days that my grandchildren were born rank right up there as the best days of my life.  Graham Vincent came into the world quickly, in the wee hours of the morning, without much fanfare.  Unlike his sister who had a slew of relatives waiting in the waiting room (she was born in early evening), Graham came before most had even woken up.  Typical of a second child who says, "I don't need a lot of fuss about me!"   Of course his sister and I got to the hospital before the sun rose to get our first glance at him.  He is so fortunate to have such a wonderful mom and dad AND big sister.   Meet Graham!
